Arduino Day Szeged 2023

EN

This year, on April 18th, our Szeged office once again participated in the local events of the international Arduino Day, which is celebrating its 10th birthday, organized by Creativ_it, CSIHA Zrt. and csharptutorial.hu.

One of the central themes of the event was cybersecurity. The speakers all presented highly interesting and relevant topics, demonstrating the challenges they face in cybersecurity on a daily basis.

This year’s workshop surpassed the previous year’s sold-out event. Alongside the quick registrations, there was also a waiting list for individuals hoping to secure if a place in the group session led by evosoft's Product and Service Security Manager. The aim of the workshop was to create an access control system using the Arduino platform, which utilizes RFID technology to enable access. Participants from various generations, including X, Y and Z, as well as younger attendees, came together to learn the basics of Arduino and RFID technology.

The presentation emphasized the importance of cybersecurity and the role of awareness, offering practical tips for both developers and users. We concluded the presentation with a live demonstration showcasing alternatives to Arduino and C++. The lecture series ended with a presentation titled "The Biggest Mistakes in Programming", where students could learn about costly programming or software development or hardware mistakes, that have had significant financial implications for their creators, even in dollar terms.

It was also worthwhile to listen to the three performances, as the audience took part in a Kahoot quiz at the end to test their recollection of the discussions. The most astute participants did not leave empty-handed, thanks to Creativ_It who provided them with various Arduino Kits, while CSIHA Zrt. offered vouchers.

As usual, the chocolate muffins were not to be missed. The Arduino Day, held in Szeged for the second time, once again proved the significance of the Arduino community members sharing their knowledge and experience, particularly in the realm of cybersecurity.
