Making wishes come true

EN

When the evolunteers agreed on the details of the Christmas collection programme with the managers of the homes, they could hardly believe that everyone could make a wish.

"Sure? Not just the kids?", -- they asked uncertainly.

"Christmas is a holiday for all of us, children or adults.  We all have wishes and desires. We now want to realize them to make this Christmas a genuinely happy one for the families living there."

This year's collection was organized for families living in two transitional homes of the Lámpás (Lantern) Charitable Foundation and for the residents of the Jó Pásztor (Good Shepherd) Sisters' Mother's Home.  Each resident could make a wish, and we made it happen.

The inhabitants of the three homes wanted a wide variety of articles for personal use: one fancied a carpet, while a teenage girl craved her first perfume. A mother asked for a pot to cook her children's lunch in, while another teenager dreamed of wireless headphones. Some of them also thought about everyday needs: they asked for hygiene and cleaning products.

Together with our colleagues at evosoft, we granted a total of 107 wishes.

For families living in temporary homes, they are often the only gifts they receive. In some cases, additional donations were expected from other organizations, but they were unfortunately not received.

Nevertheless, we arrived "under the tree" in time, with several pool cars packed to the brim.  We have managed to bring authentic magic to family celebrations.
